LNG Exports

LNG exports give America the potential to change the worldwide energy dynamic for the better, create jobs and improve energy security for our allies.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports give America the potential to change the worldwide energy dynamic for the better and improve energy security for our allies. We have the resources, we have the technology, and we have the energy supply to become a world energy superpower. We just need smart local and federal energy policies and the right energy infrastructure.

The shale revolution means that the United States has abundant natural gas supplies. Our nation is now the largest producer of natural gas in the world. It’s time that our energy laws reflect this new reality. Right now there is a backlog of applications being considered by the Department of Energy to allow liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. These exports will create jobs and grow our economy. We can’t afford to have these LNG exports held up by bureaucratic delay.

LNG exports present a promising new avenue to keep American energy production surging. Allowing our natural gas to be sold in markets around the world will create jobs here, grow our economy, and reduce the U.S. trade deficit. It will also give nations an alternative to buying their natural gas from unfriendly nations. Unfortunately, current law allows DOE to take too long in approving permits for LNG exports. These bureaucratic delays are harming our economy, costing America jobs, and reducing revenue for state and local governments.
